The area at the back of the home was previously a conservatory but the customer didn’t use it that much and wanted a dynamic area to host social gatherings and enjoy the outdoor space of their home. The transformation is really stunning and combines a lot of key design elements that come together to create a contemporary and usable space. Milwood worked with Lifestyle Canopies to ensure that all the measurements were exacting to allow for the roof blades to line up perfectly over the larger and smaller roof modules. A custom RAL colour was used on the roof modules to give a brighter contrast in the roof and not create too dark an area. A big element of the design was to let in a lot of daylight and that is why the two largest apertures have the glass sliding door system whilst also allowing free movement out into the garden area. This also gives a really sleek and expensive look to the structure. On the opposite side, there are vertical zip screens to hide the large hedge and to also provide additional shielding from the elements, the material colour was matched up to the roof modules. The small return aperture was not large enough to put in doors or a zip screen so this has been clad in matching woodgrain shiplap cladding to the area on the house wall, what a nice touch! Lifestyle Canopies owner Steve Huckle did a lot of the surrounding landscaping work and interior finishing as well so it became a large project but well worth the effort in the end.
