This Simplicity 16 Hybrid Glass Room and Walkway installation was completed at a residential property in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, transforming an exposed patio area into a fully enclosed and sheltered outdoor living space. Featuring 16mm multiwall polycarbonate roofing, the system delivers structural performance alongside excellent light diffusion and weather protection.

Finished in RAL 9005 Black Textured, this installation combines sliding glass doors with a glazed return, creating a seamless hybrid configuration that functions both as a glass room and a covered transition space between areas of the property.

The design includes a full front sliding door system and a right-hand sliding door with a single glazed cheese frame return, forming a complete enclosed glass room structure.

This project utilises 16mm opal multiwall polycarbonate roofing panels, supported by extruded aluminium roof bars and an integrated eaves beam gutter system. The hybrid configuration allows the main enclosure to function as a glass room, while the adjoining section operates as a protected walkway, maintaining consistent structural integrity across the full span.

Given the 3500mm projection and overall system weight, the installation required:

• Proper ground preparation for structural post fixing
• Accurate levelling across the full 5.5m span
• Secure fixing of the wall plate to the host building
• lignment of multi-track sliding door systems to ensure smooth operation
• Careful integration of the concealed drainage system

The 70 x 100mm posts provide additional structural support for enclosed applications, particularly important when integrating large-format sliding glass doors.

The 5.7° pitch ensures effective rainwater management into the integrated gutter and downpipe system.
