Aluminium is a popular material choice for many applications due to its high strength and light weight. It is also resistant to corrosion and will accept a range of finishes to add a layer of colour to the exterior. Interestingly, aluminium has become the second most commonly used metal in the world with iron being the most used.

We specifically selected aluminium as the construction for our Simplicity canopies due to the fact that it is a highly robust material that is also cost effective. This enables us to offer our customers a high quality and long lasting product at attractive prices.

Listed below are some of the benefits and features of aluminium and why it is the best material for your carport or veranda.

  • Light Weight – Aluminium is light in weight making it more eco friendly compared to heavier metals as it creates less transport emissions and it is also easier to move around making it easier to handle on site causing even less disruption.
  • High strength – Aluminium is a robust strong material. The aluminium used to construct our simplicity carports is the strongest T6 grade structural aluminium which is also used to construct military aircrafts.
  • Excellent Corrosion Resistance – Aluminium will not rot or rust. It is naturally covered with a protective oxide film however; it can be protected further with finishes such as anodizing & electroplating
  • Recyclable—Aluminium can be recycled over & over again without losing or weakening any of its benefits.
  • Long Life Expectancy – Aluminium has an average life expectancy of around 40 years depending on the use of the material however, there are buildings that were constructed over 100 years ago that are still standing strong, proving that aluminium really does stand the test of time.
  • Available Finishes—Although aluminium is naturally coated with an oxide film protecting it from rust, aluminium can be further protected by additional finishes such as polyester powder coating, liquid paint, electroplating & anodizing.
  • Seamless Construction—Aluminium can be manufactured to complex shapes from just one piece of an extruded section without having to join various pieces together. This makes the aluminium sections a lot more robust.
  • Fire Resistant—Aluminium will not burn and it will not produce toxic fumes even when it is introduced to extremely high temperatures.
