Trade Partner Questions

I have a customer with a bungalow/house with low back height, can I still order a system?2017-08-10T13:51:49+01:00

Yes, a lot of our resellers use bungalow brackets to gain additional height at the back. We don’t manufacture or supply these but we can create a CAD drawing to include them so that your customer can envisage what the end structure will look like.

I’ve got a delivery coming tomorrow, what time will it arrive?2017-08-10T13:49:44+01:00

Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee an early delivery due to the fact we have multiple deliveries across the UK on any one day. Therefore, to avoid delays of installation we suggest arranging delivery the day before you are due to install. Please allow 3-4 weeks from confirmation of order for your order to be delivered.

Do you offer installation training?2022-01-26T11:17:24+00:00

We also provide you with fully illustrated installation guides, please print these and ask your installers to spend some time looking over them before your system arrives. Making sure that the fitters have the CAD drawings on site is also key. This is an important point of reference and is bespoke to the order being installed. The exact measurements are shown on the CAD drawing, not the installation guide.

What are your lead times?2022-01-26T11:15:41+00:00

We currently have a 3-4 week lead time from the date that your order is approved. Coloured structures have a slightly longer lead time and are closer to the 4 week timescale.

Please note, the above timescales can change depending on how busy we are so please check at the time of ordering.

Once you have been approved as a Trade Partner, you will be given access to the Trade Partner Area so you can download a selection of sales and marketing materials. You will also be informed of your allocated discounts.

If you are unclear as to your allocated discounts please email [email protected] and we will confirm these with you.

How do I place an order?2017-08-10T14:26:32+01:00

Do your structures require planning permission or building regulations?2017-08-10T14:28:21+01:00

Planning permission and/or building regulations are sometimes required before a canopy, veranda or carport can be installed, this is dependent on a number of factors including the area the structure will cover, the height and whether a building is a Listed building or on designated land. We advise contacting the local planning department for the installation area for specific advice.

Standard Size Systems

What are Milwood Group’s standard sized systems?2026-01-29T14:51:26+00:00

Standard sized systems are pre-engineered aluminium veranda and glass room configurations, offered in a selection of popular sizes. They sit alongside our bespoke (to the mm) service and are designed to simplify specification, pricing, and ordering where custom sizing is not required.

Are standard sized systems replacing bespoke made-to-measure projects?2026-01-29T14:51:29+00:00

No. Bespoke systems remain central to Milwood Group’s offering. Standard sizes provide an additional option for projects where speed, simplicity, and cost efficiency are the priority, without removing the ability to specify fully bespoke solutions.

Which systems are included in the initial standard sized launch?2026-01-29T14:51:33+00:00

The first phase focuses on the most in-demand configurations, including:

  • Simplicity 6: Glass roof verandas and glass rooms
  • Simplicity 16: Polycarbonate canopies and glass rooms
  • Simplicity Free Mono: Glass roof freestanding canopies and glass rooms

The remaining systems within the Simplicity range including the 35, Xtra, Xtra PLUS, and the Simplicity Free Apex will follow in later phases.

How do standard sizes reduce lead times?2026-03-09T14:59:55+00:00

Standard sized systems do not require a CAD approval process. This removes an additional step during the quotation and approval stage, helping reduce the overall time from enquiry to delivery compared with fully bespoke solutions.

How are standard sizes measured differently from bespoke systems?2026-01-29T14:49:12+00:00

Standard systems are engineered using bar length calculations rather than projection. This approach simplifies production and ensures the roof bars, and fixings are used as efficiently as possible.

Do standard sized systems still require CAD approval?2026-01-29T15:12:56+00:00

No. One of the key benefits is that standard systems do not require a CAD approval process. This allows orders to be placed and processed with ease.

Why has Milwood Group introduced standard sizes now?2026-01-29T14:49:25+00:00

Market demand is shifting towards faster turnaround, clearer pricing, and repeatable installations. Standard sizes help Trade Partners convert enquiries faster while maintaining Milwood Group’s aluminium quality, structural performance, and long-term reliability.

Are Trade Partner discounts applied to standard sized systems?2026-01-29T14:49:30+00:00

Yes. All existing Trade Partner discount levels apply in full. This results in lower base system costs compared to bespoke equivalents, supporting stronger margins or more competitive pricing without altering your discount structure.

Can standard sized systems still be upgraded?2026-01-29T14:49:36+00:00

Yes. Standard sized systems remain compatible with select Milwood upgrades such as lighting, heating, glazing options, shading solutions, and privacy enhancements, subject to system compatibility and specification rules.

When should a standard size be used instead of bespoke?2026-01-29T14:49:43+00:00

Standard sizing is ideal when:

  • The project fits within the available standard dimensions
  • Speed from enquiry to installation is critical
  • Transparent pricing supports quicker decision-making

Bespoke should still be used where site constraints, complex layouts, or design flexibility are required.

Are standard sized systems suitable for both verandas and glass rooms?2026-01-29T14:49:48+00:00

Yes. The initial range includes open verandas as well as fully enclosed glass room solutions, allowing Trade Partners to offer both entry-level and premium options without bespoke design work.

How are Trade Partners supported when ordering standard sized systems?2026-01-29T14:49:54+00:00

Trade Partners follow a clear three-step process:

  • Order from defined standard system sizes
  • Manufacture using optimised, fixed bar lengths with no CAD approval required
  • Deliver through Milwood’s established production and logistics process

Supporting CAD drawings and Account Manager guidance ensure standard sized systems integrate seamlessly into existing sales and ordering workflows.

Standard Size Gates

How many Standard-Sized Aluminium Gates are available?2026-01-29T14:49:59+00:00

The range consists of nine pre-defined aluminium gate sizes designed to provide a consistent, reliable solution that integrates seamlessly with the A-Fence system or other settings, without the need for bespoke fabrication.

Why has Milwood introduced standard-sized gates?2026-01-29T14:50:06+00:00

Standardising gate sizes simplifies specification, speeds up quoting, and improves consistency across projects, while still delivering the same quality, durability, and finish expected from Milwood systems

Are the gates a separate product from A-Fence?2026-01-29T14:50:12+00:00

What materials are used in the gate construction?2026-01-29T14:50:18+00:00

The gates are manufactured in Britain using high-grade aluminium, combined with stainless steel and polymer components to ensure long-term structural performance and corrosion resistance.

How durable is the paint finish?2026-01-29T14:50:24+00:00

Each gate is finished using a marine-quality powder-coating process. The textured finish helps minimise the visibility of minor scratches and general wear over time.

What hinge system is used?2026-01-29T14:50:43+00:00

The gates use heavy-duty polymer hinges with stainless steel internal components. Each hinge is rated to carry up to 25kg independently and will not rust, bind, or stain.

How secure are the gates?2026-01-29T14:50:30+00:00

All gates are supplied with a 100 percent stainless steel key lock mechanism, operable from both sides, along with a black powder-coated lever handle for a clean, robust finish.

How are the gate sizes measured?2026-01-29T14:50:36+00:00

Gate dimensions are measured from outside of post to outside of post, providing installers with clear, accurate overall system dimensions for setting out and groundwork.

What installation method is used?2026-01-29T14:50:54+00:00

The system uses in-ground posts and engineered brackets to provide strength, stability, and long-term reliability of the gate structure once installed.

Are the gates suitable for residential and commercial projects?2026-01-29T14:50:59+00:00

Yes. The gates have been designed to suit a wide range of residential and light commercial applications where durability, appearance, and reliable operation are essential.

Will there be a dedicated installation guide?2026-01-29T14:51:08+00:00

Yes. A fully revised Standard-Sized Gates Installation Guide is being produced, replacing the existing gate content currently shown within the A-Fence installation documentation.

What warranty is supplied with the gates?2026-01-29T14:51:14+00:00

All standard-sized aluminium gates are supplied with a 2-year warranty, offering reassurance on materials, finish, and overall build quality.
