You may think it’s just home owners that need protection from the weather when enjoying the outdoors, but it’s not. Many businesses can make use of shade and shelter structures for a range of reasons too, including:

  • Weather protection for staff, customers & guests.
  • Additional covered space.
  • A smoking area.

A  wide variety of businesses have canopies installed, such as schools, leisure centres, care homes, restaurants and commercial properties. Look at your local supermarket, and you’ll likely see a canopy.

Increase Your Customer Base

By advertising to your local business community, you can increase your sales prospects. This can help to grow your business and at the same time reach a larger audience.

When you do a good job and supply a great product to a business, anyone who visits those premises could become a potential customer.

Finding The Right Product

victorian-upgrade-simplicity-35-02The Milwood Group offers installers the chance to sell our fantastic commercial solutions on our behalf and the Simplicity 35 canopy is the perfect solution for commercial properties.

During the production of our systems, we use high-quality 35mm polycarbonate panels and ensure they are classified as non-fragile by complying with ACR

[M]001:2014 ‘Test for Non-Fragility of Profiled Sheeting Roofing Assemblies’. We have received an A rating, the highest possible.

This rating essentially means our roofing system has passed a ‘drop test’. A drop test is when the load of a person is dropped on the roofing system twice, and the system retains that load.

The roofing system must also show no signs of any damage that will affect its weather resistance.

You might think that our system would, therefore, be bulky or heavy but that is not the case. Our polycarbonate panels are lightweight and 200 times stronger than glass. However, despite their strength, they should never be walked upon – unless there are boards present.

While there is no building regulation stating that a non-fragile roofing system should be installed for a canopy, it is highly recommended. Not only is it accident-proof, but also the canopy will be protected from the worst of the British weather including high winds, heavy rain and snow.

In the summer the canopy also offers protection from 98% of the UV’s rays.
