Eco-Home Improvements & Renovations Market

We now trade in a world where customers want more than just high quality and competitively priced products. With any high valued purchase, customers want more value and accredited benefits related to their purchases. The main accreditation and benefits consumers look for nowadays is the ‘green label’

So how does that apply to Milwood and its Trade Partners?

We have conducted some internal market research – and we found that more customers and tradespeople are purchasing and conducting more eco-friendly processes. The ‘green home improvements’ market is on a 17% rise with people undertaking more eco-friendly improvements projects compared to 2019.

Tradespeople are also seeing this greener impact reflected on their business with projects being booked for more eco-friendly jobs which is a 29% increase in green-related jobs. The knock-on effect of this increase in greener home improvements has left tradespeople changing their business approach. This year, tradespeople have started making their businesses eco-friendlier – with 48% of tradespeople adjusting their businesses to reduce the impact they have on the environment.

The most common methods businesses are using to become more eco-friendly are the following,

  • Using materials that have less plastic packaging
  • Changing all power tools to battery operated
  • Upgrading to an electric-powered van
  • Reusing old materials to reduce waste

What are we doing about this increasing trend?

Milwood’s Eco-Friendly Approach

Here at Milwood, we use recyclable materials for all our verandas, carports and canopies. This becomes very advantageous for the business – simply due to the fact it is cost effective and provides benefits for the environment.

In addition, our manufactured waste is used for sampling and marketing material – giving us more value from our products and processes. The creativity does not stop there, here at Milwood we are keen to explore more into the eco-friendly home improvement sector therefore we have begun to develop and research more ways Milwood could become greener.

What to look out for…

Going forward, the Milwood Group will be exploring new paths in the eco-friendly home improvements market, in the New Year, we aim to have to more of an insight for our Trade Partner regarding our eco-friendly movement – however in the meantime if any of our Trade Partner have any ideas or input – feel free to share and email [email protected] to start a conversation.
