Garden canopies are perfect for enabling you to sit and relax or dine outside in the comfort of your own garden without the burning heat and glare from the sun or sudden downpours or rain. But did you know that a garden canopy can also protect your decking and furniture too.
I’m not saying a canopy will ensure your decking and furniture last forever whilst being covered by a canopy or that you won’t need to maintain your furniture as recommended by the suppliers but a canopy will keep them looking newer for longer and reduce sun and rain damage that can cause discolouration and rot.
As garden canopies shelter from the rain, your decking and furniture (if fully under the canopy) will not experience rain falling onto them. Over the years, timber soaks up water and will eventually rot, but a canopy will reduce this risk, lengthening the life span of the decking/furniture.
Items such as barbeques can be stored under garden canopies (however, please do not use or light barbecues under a canopy). Clothes horses, gardening equipment and wood for your wood burner can also be stored under a canopy, protecting them from the weather.
