vintage-862175_640Traditional Marketing such as listings in phonebooks and leaflets through the door were always a reliable advertising channel, but do they still work as well today? The times have changed over the last 10-20 years and it still changes every day. It is important that your company keeps up with the times and by doing so, you will show that you are a well organised, productive company that has a passion for going from strength or strength.

Of course word of mouth will never get old and personal recommendations will always be key, but to move on with the times and get one step ahead of your competitors.

The internet is where you need to be – make sure you have a website that is kept up to date with contact information, the services you offer and photos of your completed work. Testimonials are also great to include on your website.

So you’ve got a website, but are you on the first page of Google (and preferably at the top of the page)? I would take a guess that 90% of internet users will search for companies on Google so you need to make sure that your website is optimised for search engines. If you are not on page one, the chances are, you will not be found, optimising your website is key to being found and to generating more business.

One you have your website sorted, it’s time to work on social media – do you have a twitter and/or Facebook account? If you do great, if not – get one! If you supply and install to domestic customers, you will benefit from using and regularly updating your social media accounts. They are a great place for you to regularly add your completed installation photos, effectively creating a portfolio that the public can look through in their own time, from the comfort of their own home.

Being on social media also shows that you are an honest and trust worthy company as if you are not, you will receive many complaints on the various social media sites; being on there shows that you are confident that this will not happen. Also, if you do receive negative comments be sure to deal with them professionally and appropriately, reply publically but also contact them personally and go out of your way to solve the issue.

Thanks for reading this post, I hope it has given you some insight in improving your marketing and therefore generating more business. If you haven’t got an up to date website that is on high on Google or social media accounts, then you could be missing out big time.
