The Milwood Group had a successful first exhibit at Futurescape in Sandown Park on the 12th March, showcasing the launch of the Ali Deck aluminium decking system and promoting the outdoor living solutions that we manufacture and supply.
One product which caught a lot of attention at the show was the Bioclimatic Pergola system, a product that has been very popular with us so far this year. Landscaping companies are being asked to include these structures in their designs on a more regular basis, especially when used as free-standing systems to cover outdoor kitchens and seating areas.
A lot of companies are investigating systems at the top end of the market and then getting knocked back on
price straight away, it causes them to just “give up”. Interest was soon rejuvenated when we discussed
pricing of the Bioclimatic Pergola system that we offer, and a handful of companies sent in quote requests the
very next day after the show!
Even though these are expensive structures, they represent fantastic value in the market place and have
design elements that are far superior to the supposed “market leaders”.
What sets apart our system is that it has been designed for countries that have weather systems similar and
more extreme than the UK, not just a design for a shade-based country.
The gutter tray and floating gutter system allows far more water collection than a simple U channel gutter on the ring beam that most other systems use. In heavy downpours we’ve seen evidence of the water spilling over the U channel gutters as they can’t drain the water away quickly enough, causing the covered area to become soaked and the customer unable to use the space. Our system does not have that issue and it’s one to really promote when you are dealing with your customers enquiry and their expectations.
Don’t forget that you can fully enclose these structures with either glass sliding doors/fixed panels and vertical fabric zip screens to give enhanced protection from the elements. There are various lighting options to enable comfortable usage well into the night and we have a range of outdoor heaters that complement these systems perfectly.
