Fantastic Double Simplicity 16 Installation at Secondary School in Cork, Ireland, installed by our Trade Partner Roofit

We recently worked with Roofit, our Trade Partner in Ireland, on a recent secondary school project in Cork. Two of our Simplicity 16 model canopies were installed in the courtyard to create a large sheltered space in the event of sudden downpours while the children are at recess.
Roofit have been an active Trade Partner with us for several years now and have overseen many successful outdoor solution projects within the city of Cork and all across Ireland.
Both Simplicity 16 canopies are installed to the side of a low, extended section of the building that the children use to access the playground from the school. Due to the sloping ground, different heights were required to meet the underside of the roof with our aluminium Goal Post upgrade used to overcome the varying heights around the corner.
The posts were supplied at stock lengths which Roofit could cut to length on site prior to installation, with the posts securely cemented into the ground at 600mm. The taller and wider Sim 16 canopy spans 9760m wide with a projection of 3400mm, while the second measures in at 6750mm wide with a projection of 3000mm to suit the higher ground and shorter length of the building.
A Clear Polycarbonate Infill was used between the canopies to create a seal and prevent the elements such as rain or snow from entering the sheltered space, while also protecting from the wind.
Finished in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, the canopies seamlessly integrate into the school buildings and the outdoor furniture in the playground. The ceiling panels are made of 16mm Clear Triple Wall Poly to reduce the effects of direct sunlight passing through, creating a shaded area beneath.
The overall result is yet another fantastic display of craftmanship from the team at Roofit, who continue to impress us with the outcome of some of the most complex projects we see! We look forward to seeing what’s next from the Roofit team!
